Lullaby: A Poem

Updated on September 09, 2011

Sing me a lullaby
of sweet serenity
My heart is a lock
You are the key

Put my face in your hands
Then look into my eyes
If you see a bright light
Your reflection will guise

Hold me but not just in your arms
More than an organ is your heart
Place me there beneath the Savior
Love me there with great regard

You're more than a miracle
You're my peace of mind
Your a diamond in the rough
Carefully polished and refined

So, won't you sing a lullaby?
A song of sweet serenity?
Now you quite know that my heart is a lock
Without you as a key...

Powerful words...but I can see that honoring the Savior comes first in the poem's priorities.
