"Lungs" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Lungs"

He could see God in me

A man wise upon his years

As the devil swam inside

And it's an anomally

Abnormal

A growth on top my head

Waiting

Battling

To stay awake

To share thine heavenly bed

My lustful wake

A wish to sin

Rippling

A dream within

I pray my soul ye take, and then give it back to me, since it's nice to share

Take a step down off the pedestal, and this the equivalent to a fall?

No! No! The battle lay in front of us

Ye conquer, conquer ye, deception hear ye call

And slither off my tongue

Peel your self off of my body

For death is a squeal, the noise before you come

Sensation, surrendering to darkness

For through fire you burn, and then you are cold

Ashes to ashes

Dust to dust

So where ye escape, ye escape with thy soul

And fly along with each other, and crash into the flesh

Buried by the weight

And he could see God in me

A dichotomy

I pray forgiveness, I pray, repentance, I sin, I do, I say

And he could see God in me

A tragedy

Breathing breath back into me, this wind, thus forced upon our lungs

Deep one, my Friend. Feels like a conversation with your self; an introspection. Great write!

Apologize for the distasteful adds. Seems to be a habit. A well constructed piece revealing the inner and outer selves. whonu
