Lynette Eason Delivers Suspense In Novel 'Chasing Secrets'
Lynette Eason and Daughter Lauryn Co-Author Christmas novel
Bestselling Author Lynette Eason's 'Chasing Secrets' A Masterpiece
Bestselling author Lynette Eason has created yet another page-turner with Chasing Secrets, the final novel of the Elite Guardian Series. Bodyguard Haley Callaghan makes a career out of protecting others, but she finds the tables turned in this thrilling book in which her own life is on the line. While she is busy saving lives in South Carolina, a photograph reveals her own existence is in jeopardy.
This sweeping novel carries the reader from Haley's domain of South Carolina across the Atlantic Ocean to Rock Moran Castle in Ireland.
Eason Delivers With Novel of Substance
By delving deeper than many novelists into a character study, Eason has succeeded in creating a work of true substance. Haley's background in Ireland provides a fascinating history of her as a character. Twenty five years after she escaped a family massacre as a toddler, she comes face to face with her past. She decides to find out who killed her family then and who might be trying to kill her now.
Protagonist Haley Callahan Target
Protagonist Haley Callahan realizes there are several people who might want her dead. Not only are people in Ireland threatened by her existence, but she also faces danger from those on her home turf of South Carolina. Haley shows she's a Good Samaritan as she helps a potential mugger and his poor family. However, there are also others who are threatened by her acts of kindness to the needy family.
Fourth Book In Series
This modern suspense masterpiece is the fourth and final novel in the Elite Guardian series. This book revolves around one of four of the female bodyguards which comprise the Elite Guardian series. While it's not necessary to read the three preceding books in the series to understand this one, I would recommend readers do so. Each of the female bodyguards including the boss Olivia is a strong woman with a story as intriguing as that of Haley.
Bodyguard For A Bodyguard
Although Haley is too strong a character to admit it, she herself needs a bodyguard. Steven, a police officer with a past of his own, emerges to fill that role. Returning home to South Carolina for personal reasons after a stint in the big city of Chicago, Steven is accurately portrayed as typical law enforcement officer.
Accurate Portrayal Of Law Enforcement
One aspect of this suspense thriller that lifts it above books by many other authors, is the accurate portrayal of law enforcement officers. That even includes the realistic banter between police officers Quinn and Steven regarding everything from their respective ages to backgrounds. Quinn appeared in a larger role in one of the four previous novels of the Elite Guardian series.
Elite Guardians Span Four Novels
The Elite Guardian series by Lynette Eason include Always Watching, Without Warning, Moving Target and Chasing Secrets in that order. While it's not necessary to read them in any particular order, one does become acquainted with the four stellar female members of the professional organization by reading the entire series. In the first of the four Always Watching, the reader gets to know the supervisor of the group Olivia. That book won the Carol Award presented by the American Christian Fiction Writers at the annual convention in Grapevine, Texas in September.
Elite Guardian Series Consistent Excellence
The entire Elite Guardian series is excellent from the opening page of Always Watching to the last page of Chasing Secrets. Readers are first introduced to the four female bodyguards when radio personality Wade Savage's life is threatened in Always Watching. Agency owner Olivia Edwards is forced to step up and take over the case when his original bodyguard is attacked and nearly killed. Olivia appears again briefly in the final book of the series Chasing Secrets.

Lynette Eason Teams Up With Daughter
Recently, Lynette has teamed up with her daughter Lauryn to write a Christmas suspense thriller. Entitled Christmas Ranch Rescue, the novel was released December of 2017.
Lynette said, "I have to say this book holds a special place in my heart. My daughter, Lauryn, was fifteen years old when she came up with the idea for this story. You see, she decided she'd enter the Killer Voices contest because she was bored. Ha! Yes, I'm serious. It was freezing here in South Carolina-------and those of you from up north may laugh, but it really did drop below zero that winter. And we had an ice storm. Airports were shut down, roads were closed and my daughter wass climbing the walls. I told her about the contest and said, "Why don't you give it a try?"
Lynette said her daughter wrote the first page and she helped "tweak it." Lauryn sent the first page in and moved on to the next round which was a full synopsis.
Mother and daughter then sat down and plotted out the entire story together. Daughter wrote the first three chapters with Lynette editing. Unfortunately, at that point final exams loomed ahead, and Lauryn had to set the book and the contest aside.

'Christmas Ranch Rescue' Released
Lnette said in a recent blog that three years later she had one book left on an eight-book contract. Her daughter's story had never left her. She'd always believed in Lauryn's story and knew she was a great storyteller.
When Lynette asked Lauryn if she was ready to tackle that project her daugher's reply was, "No way!" She was a freshman in college and her life was busy.
Mother then asked daughter if she minded if she wrote the rest of the story. The college student said, "Go for it!"
Lynette wrote in her Harlequin blog, "So, I did."
In the recent blog which now appears on her Facebook page, Lynette described the arrival of the book as one of the best Christmas presents she's ever received. She wrote, "When the author copies arrived, one of the coolest things was to see her touch the heroine on the cover and say, "That's exactly how I pictured her!"
Lynette further wrote, "And another great pleasure was having her open the book to the first page and squeal, "I wrote this!" I laughed and said, "I know!" The awe on her face was so amazing."
Lynette then said, "So, all in all, this story is one of the best Christmas gifts ever---having my daughter's name on the cover with mine."
