MY BLUE HEAVEN
By: Wayne Brown
I turned left when I should have gone right
Took a long journey into the darkness of night
Did not get back home until the sun came around
Looking for my blue heaven all over town
I looked up when I should have looked down
Missed that little path there on the ground
Wandered aimlessly until well after seven
Searching the world for my blue heaven
Dazed and confused not knowing where to start
All that was left was to follow my heart
Follow it I did until I was lost and so alone
Looks like my blue heaven might be gone
I looked here and I searched over there
It seems that I was looking everywhere
Anxiously following any clue that was given
Searching the world for my blue heaven
I’ll know it when I see though my eyes have never cast
Upon it’s beautiful future or the history of its past
Looking in closets, drawers, searching everywhere in sight
Looks like my blue heaven has dashed into the night
Lost in time and in space, lost among the human race
Needing so much for some new direction to chase
Looking in houses, stores, even Seven-Eleven
Searching the world for my blue heaven
It’s Paradise lost and an Eden never to be found
I’ve searched high and low; simply looked all around
It’s just got to be there; find it I certainly must
Before my blue heaven is lost in time’s dust
