Magick ~ Dream the Rainbow

Updated on May 7, 2012

I hear your voice in the wind
Like a raven singing to the mountain
I slumber with restless dreams and
I don't know what I'd do without them

I put all my faith into you
Like an Oak has faith in the sun
When you speak your Golden Truth
I know my work here is nearly done ~

You taught me that Love is the Law
And that you are a moonlight Madonna
Mother you swim in the ether of dreaming
As you mirror back the starlight Nirvana
Mother the world calls me the Fool
But I know I believe in Magick
Mother when you hold and comfort me
.....I know I believe in Magick

You know I believe in eternity
As I listen to the whispers of destiny
And if we drown in the rivers of the sensual world
Or look for a future that could never be told
Like strangers and teachers, or a face in the mist
Can you feel her Magick's kiss
In the dreaming ~

You showed me the promised land
And you told me I must build and ark
I see the torch in your fist
It's like firelight stabbing the dark

The nature of nature and man
To wage war but you are the warlord
The dealer of of death and life
Leading soldiers to the edge of the ford ~

Your name only serpents speak
You are the master of shadow and trees
Father, I am your warrior child
Always searching for the sun in the seas
Father you come to me in daydream visions
But I know I believe in Magick
Father you're the hunter, the horde and the ox
And I know I believe in Magick

You know I believe there's an Eden
Where the children can all live in freedom
And if I run from the madness of anger and love
Will you murder the dawn or will you heal the dove
As he pounds his fists in the empires
Can you feel his Magick's fires
In the dreaming ~

In the dream
Am I dreaming
You left me dreaming
Let me dream the rainbow

I'm not a prophet
We're not martyrs
No one here is heroes
Let me dream the rainbow ~

You know that I believe that a time will come
When all the wars we have waged will end
I wait here everyday for the sunset to come
To forget the way that things have been
Like a lullaby's power in the Thirteenth Hour
You know I believe in Magick
Like shooting stars reflecting off pearls in the waves
You know that I believe in Magick ~

.....You know I believe in Magick
Please let me dream the rainbow

Poetic Notes and History on by Blake4d

This is a Poem / Song that was written during my time studying Wicca with my good friend and mentor Mary Chapman. It has a lot of my youth within it, when I read the words it evokes many memories for me. I prefer the spelling of Magick versus Magic, because I consider my beliefs more aligned with Sorcery than Witchcraft. And to a degree, I walk more of a left hand path by choice. Magick ~ Dream the Rainbow was originally written in 1996, and was originally called by the title The Dreaming Rain. It became the title it is now, when it was set to music. It is dedicated to my friends from Moon Goddess Coven during that period of my life. The rest is history.

May the Magik be always with you. Besides without those rainbows life would be very colorless.
