Make Your Differences Shine

Updated on November 18, 2013

A Little At A Time

We can all make an effort

To see beyond all our similarities

Letting our originality peak

For so many years we have tried to blend in

Now we can accept our differences and exercise our right

To reveal

We are different in so many beautiful ways

Each of our bodies are made unique

Varying in so many degrees

For me it was my two ears that always seemed larger

Poked fun at when young

Now that I look back at the past

A time of trouble and heartache

I can clearly see I was not the only one

We all has our suttle imperfections

That seemed so nerve racking then

Now after surviving the childhood imbarressment

We have to find it in ourselves

To forgive those who did not know any better

Then in the same breath to thank God for our unique gifts

I am blessed with two beautiful ears that hear

Faithfully they have never let me down

Because a world without sound

Is such a difficult problem to face

So never again will I shy away

From who I am

Because that is who I was meant to be

Hello Michael. Absolute message for every parent:" Make your differences shine", if only they will know to tell their child, you're only one and unique among all seven plus billion people . To thank God requires acknowledging the Creator's existence, and when everyone will be aware that we are created to His image , every new born child being of His image, so a peer pressure is eliminated, as the other man made ( stupid ) discriminations.

You've gave me idea and I give you up, useful and interesting.

Have good evening and a good night.

Joy56 I am so happy to see you. Some things from our past we never forget but we can take all those thoughts and use them to inspire us to better choices and learning to overcome any obstacles. Thank you for making me laugh and bringing joy back again. Have a beautiful day Noddy.

you be Big Ears, I will be Noddy

Getting older, and I talk about myself here. Puts everything in perspective, even ears.

DDE At a young age it can be very difficult when your peers joke and have fun at your expense. You can feel alone and insecure about many things. Gaining confidence and learning real friends don't hurt others with words or actions. You slowly find your way. annart Schools are taking their part to make sure this doesn't happen. Parents can support their children and teach them to stand up for who they are and be proud. Thank you both for reading and sharing it means so much.

It's true that we should celebrate our differences but sadly children make fun of others all too easily and school can be hell. However, those sort of problems are being dealt with well in most schools now. We all have good aspects about us and should concentrate on those, as you say.

Make Your Differences Shine very interesting about differences we all have such things in our lives. The one thing for sure nobody can change who they really are.
