Making Myself Comfortable And Ready To Relax

Updated on January 30, 2011

The Day Is Winding Down

I did all I could do for one day

I am pleased that I was able to do so much

I had to work but it wasn't half bad

I actually liked being there with friends I know so well

We have worked together many times in the past

Work takes up a good part of my day

An eight hour contribution to my future

The other third of my day is used for sleep

Seven hours if I get up early or eight hours if I push my sleep

The time remaining I have to use wisely

There is transportation time to and from work

For me that is three hours a day

The only way I have learned to change is by using my time better

My wife and I are lucky to travel together

We use to just talk and listen to music

Now one takes a quick nap while the other one drives

So we will be refreshed in what ever jobs we do

Then there is food preperation and meals that have to be eaten

Breakfast and lunch are two out of the three meals we eat at home

I say that is two more hours of time that are pushed to the bare minimum

Then there are other neccessities like taking a shower and bathroom time

Lets say one hour

That leaves me with two hours that I can sit back and enjoy

I can use use this time any way I wish

Call my mom on the phone because I haven't seen her half an hour

Be on the computer on FaceBook one hour

Work out at home or exercise at the gym one hour

Go to bed early two hours because I am still tired or I am fighting a cold

Play with the cat half an hour

Make love Forty five minutes to an hour

Clean the house half an hour

Read a book half an hour

Go grocery shopping one hour

Start the laundry by throwing the wash in and after taking the washed clothes out and put them in the dryer for three loads half an hour

Go on the Hub Pages and write this hub or read other peoples stories one hour

Turn on the t.v. and watch a few good sitcoms or a movie two hours

Go shovel the snow that is calling my name before the next snow storm comes forty five minutes

Hang out with good friends two hours

Go to church or pray at home and thank God for all this extra time one hour

Listen to music half an hour

So each day I make choices

Hopefully the right ones that lead me closer to my goals and retirement some day

So that I can have more time to enjoy the life that I have been living every day since I was eighteen

I am always trying to cut time here and add it somewhere else

Luckily I finished school and college that freed up some time

Life is a balance and a combination of give and take

Where we spend our time is up to us

If it is that extra job to bring in more money and less time

To have more of the things we love

Have a good day trying to sqeeze the most out of your day

Please tell me tips on how you manage to get things done

I take thirty eight hours and fifteen fifteen minutes and squash it in a twenty four hour day

I twist and turn and make it fit

At least if I close one eye and blink

I can pretend it all makes sense

Darlene Sabella Maybe if we put our time together now we can have double the time. To do so much more.Always thinking of ways to enjoy our life just a little better than before.I love your work and all your thoughtful comments. Thanks for your support.Dim Flaxenwick I guess we have to make every second count. You are in the seconds that make life so interesting.I am sure life has so many surprises that we can keep them coming non stop till the end of our days and still never see them all.So enjoy every day:-)Thank you both so much.
