Man Likes to Run

Updated on June 16, 2012

Away from the fears

Man likes to run
From the trials
In life, which come
In our eyes
We hide the fear
Of our lost control
Stopped in out tracks
We beg for freedom
For a life
With a few smiles
Like before
To that point we move on
Trying to replace
Emptiness with a style
When over the course of years
All we needed to do
Was call out
With a voice as a child

Rescue me
Rescue me
Come into my life
Tame the wild

Stop, listen to the voice
Which calms the fears
Stills the gale in your mind

Stop right where you are
Put an end to the wild ride
Lift up your heart to the One
Who'll come stand by your side

Music From the Heart

I miss porches. We used to sit on the porch and relax and watch the world go by

For once if we could just stop racing ... sit down in peace or walk barefoot on wet moist grass and think about smiling...

      Great poetry

I like the lines 'trying to replace emptiness with a style'.. so meaningful. I vote 'beautiful'.

Ahhhh....Such a beautiful poem written about how simple it could be if we just realize that there is always someone there. Great faith comes out in this and I thank you.

      You accomplished another fine write.

Beautiful way to also send the message that you can't run from it, rather you must face it and deal with it head on.
