Marvel Versus DC: Best Heroes

Updated on July 26, 2017

Marvel Versus DC: Top Dogs

Straight up, I have to admit that I lean more towards Marvel. On the other hand, I think that DC has better villains. When it comes to their movies though, Marvel does better in most aspects. But, there's no denying that both have some pretty badass characters. When it comes to judging my favorite heroes, I go by a few things: powers, likability, backstory, and yes - the costume, (I'm a girl, give me a break).

Steve Rogers: Captain America (Marvel)

The captain is one of my favorite superheros for SO many reasons. He's a good dude, he's a super-solider, his shield is super awesome and he has mad loyalty to his country and his friends. AND, he's the leader of "The Avengers", probably the best superhero team ever. When everyone gave up on Bucky, AKA the Winter solider, the captain didn't. He believed his friend was still in there and he was. He makes the best split decision choices and his heart is always in the right place.

Bruce Wayne: Batman (DC)

This character is always awesome, no matter who is playing him, (although I favored Christian Bale - I have an 'American Psycho' thing). Batman is rich, he has Alfred as his BFF, he has the coolest equipment and one of the coolest things about the guy is the fact that he isn't a meta-human. He's just a rich dude with good intentions. Plus, he has a cool backstory, even though it's sad. His costume too, is on point! Ben Affleck does a good job of portraying him and as it looks, he'll be leading "The Justice League".

Wolverine (Marvel)

I LOVE "X-Men" and Wolverine is one of my favorites. There's nothing he's afraid of, which would probably be the case for most of us if we instantaneously healed, never aged and had indestructible, retractable claws. It's terribly sad to no longer have the ripped Hugh Jackman play the iconic character but "Logan" was a great way to go out - I guess. Rumors are circulating that we haven't seen the last of the character but WHO could replace JACKman? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Clark Kent:Superman (DC)

I doubt we've seen the last of this guy regardless of seeing him buried in "Batman vs. Superman", (and I didn't dig the "martha-insta-best-friends" part of that movie). This guy has to make the top super hero list. He's the fastest, strongest dude out there and he has laser eyes. All heroes have a weakness but Superman's is the best known - kryptonite. He basically started the whole 'cape' costume idea for superheroes and his romance with Lois Lane is downright adorable. He's an all around badass who likes to keep it humble. I can't wait to see his resurrection :)

Matthew Murdock: Daredevil (Marvel)

I have to give props to Netflix for making this show incredible! Besides that thought, Daredevil is awesome. He has enhanced senses, he's basically a super badass ninja and he can see things other people need tons of devices to see. The dude also has boss-level parkour skills which comes in handy fighting crime at night in Hell's kitchen. I'm hoping he takes the lead in the upcoming "Defenders" but only time will tell. Either way, this dude is one hell of a force.

Diana: Wonderwoman (DC)

I have to give it to DC when it comes to a great female superhero. Wonderwoman, an Amazon with a ton of cool weapons, is the epitome of feminine badassness. She pretty much stole the show in "Batman VS. Superman" using her shield to standoff against one of the 'hardest-to-beat' villains in the DC universe. She's a meta-human goddess who's fearless and craves only peace.

A few More of the Best on either side:

  • Tony Stark: Ironman (Marvel)
  • Oliver Queen: Green Arrow (DC)
  • Thor (Marvel)
  • Gamora (Marvel)

I tend to sway DC, but not based on the movies. Marvel is doing a better job there. DC does has the better villains. And they have Batman. I wrote a similar post about my top five favorites from each comic.
