"Me Again" By Rolly A. Chabot

Welcome

Thought I had better stop in and say hello and let everyone know that I still exist. It has been a while and like always I have little or no excuse other than it is summer.

I have been travelling a little and getting away again tomorrow to head out to the West Coast of Canada to an Island where there is a cabin waiting and hopefully a pile of fish waiting.

Thanks for all the emails and enquiries. The last from a dear and trusted friend reminded me of the need to remember to write something. So here is the meagre offering. Gather around and lets spend some time together.

Summer Flowers

The yard work is pretty much finished this year and now just sitting back and enjoying all the fragrances in the air. The grass is a lush dark green and is ever growing in the weather we are having. Showers every other night and then heat in the day time. Maybe a reminder to stop all the fertilizing.

I have both decks painted and a portion of the fence that will need to wait till I get back. That is unless someone wants to offer to paint it while I go fishing. Will be nice to have that job finished. So help yourself the paint is in the garden shed and all you need is there as well.

Travelling

I have been getting out and about a little this year with the camera close at hand. This was taken a few weeks ago in a city three hours to the north. I looked so peaceful that day with the reflection on the water I stopped and took this one.

Some landmarks in our towns and cities never seem to change and are always in such great condition. You can tell the ones that are well looked after like this one has been. People who attend here take a great deal of pride in their building and it is nice to see and I can imagine many pictures such as this are taken.

Lazy and Looking

I posted these on Facebook the other day and shared having a great time with this old guy. In the process was giving a few finger wags and told I was lucky I did not loose a finger or two.

As you can see I acquired a new friend here. He did love the offering I had of whole grain bread. I have had a few experiences of getting the run put on me so I was careful. After the handout he was again happily on his way scolding me the entire time for only sharing a small portion of my lunch.

Funny thing about these swans is they are very temperamental. One day you can get away with this and the next well you get a surprise. They are magnificent to watch and simply sit quiet and listen to their calls.

Family Gatherings

Just a peek at new life. They are always so cute to watch staying close to Mom. These little guys were no exception as the minute I got to close they were herded off to the safety of the water.

We have many kinds of ducks and waterfowl here in this area and they are always good to watch and spend sometime around. Nature is so filled with wonder when you take the time to stop, look and listen.

I have always been one to love taking the time to just sit in the quiet of the day and observe and enjoy what is offered. It is free and better than any movie you go to because it is real and alive.

West Coast Salmon

The next stop is answering the call of the Salmon. This one was taken a few years back and weighed in at 24 pounds. Was a great day as it was one of only a few taken that day in the area. There were many good meals off of this guy.

Not all that sure if I will have Internet access on the Island I will be at. I have a portable USB device and will need to wait till I get there to see if it works in that location. Sure it will but one can never be sure.

I plan and getting the second novel completed in "The Fallen Barn" series. Just in the process of getting the final edit complete now. The first in the series has been doing well on Amazon and I have started another and just beginning to develop the character. I have started three new courses on fiction writing and from what I can see of them they are very good courses. I just finished another written here in Canada and it was very good.

So that means fishing by day and writing by night. Well past the sunburn stage now so I should return very dark. Hopefully I can say hello from there. Should be back in a few weeks. Hugs to all and above all know that you are loved.

Hi Bill... I directed the fan to the southwest from the barbecue especially for you my friend. I will be picking up a smoker along the way and plan on getting a winter supply in.

Hi Gypsy... of course... actually smoked is a great way to keep them longer. The first will be from the fire to fry pan as a shore lunch like the old days... smiles... just bring the salt and pepper.

Morning Jackie... Good to find you here. I received a notice from HP this hub had been flagged as being personal and had no content of interest for the general public... surprised it was still up and running.

Same back at you with your new project... Hugs from Canada

Well Rolly that is just someone here that takes it under their wing to do things like that and believe me I have been flagged a plenty and still am. I can't even put up a part two to an important health hub I did, the most important part. Had to lower myself to doing love poems, lol. I got 60 comments on it though and dropped a point, and anyone can say it means nothing all they want, those who know math can see when someone is going out of their way to cause you trouble. It is sad but we know in the end what it is all about, please hang in there. I see you are at a good number and of course loving your writing I never forget to vote you up and over. That's what friends are for!

Hi Jackie... smiles... getting flagged means that you got someones attention lol... thanks for stop[ping and the encouragement and you know that you always have my vote no matter what you right... ducks that fly the opposite direction of the flock seem to stand out... good to be counted right there with you.

In my case I happen to know whose attention I have and it is purely spite and no doubt recruiting help when they can. They seem to be after anyone showing promise to show Hp can have a good thing so I don't know why they continue to allow it. I'd put my work up against theirs any day. What are we hurting anyone? Small ducks in a big pond....and flying the wrong way....lol.

      Thanks!

      Hugs back at ya.

"That is unless someone wants to offer to paint it while I go fishing. Will be nice to have that job finished. So help yourself the paint is in the garden shed and all you need is there as well." - If I get a spot to pitch my tent, I'll be on my way to finish-up the painting job. : )

Lovely photographs! The swans are so beautiful!

"I have always been one to love taking the time to just sit in the quiet of the day and observe and enjoy what is offered. It is free and better than any movie you go to because it is real and alive."- Could not agree more here but I also think we (those who live in Canada) are very lucky that this country has so much pristine land and lakes to offer.

      Nice looking salmon too!

Thank You for sharing your thoughts and photos.

      Cheers!

Heh Mr. Happy... welcome to the Fireside and the gathering we have. Hope you find some rest and peace here. Will be passing through your area in a few hours on my way to the Sicamous area for a week of fun in an isolated cabin and some great fishing... ask away if you ever have any questions about the Yukon... and awesome place to visit...
