Meeting...a poem

Meeting of minds,

hearts aloof,

love barricaded,

likeness possible,

Thoughts confused,

rational mind equates,

finds hate unrelated.

Actions quieted,

hand outstretched,

warm touch familiar,

Difference noted,

feelings calm,

emotions strangely at ease,

a smile embarks.

Thoughts now clear,

a moment arrives,

lives pulse in unison,

differences dissipate.

Fear subsides,

need for understanding,

one step into a void,

into an improbable coexistence.

Words escape,

answers revealed,

unbiased and clean.

Meanings absorb doubt,

invigorate clarity,

cast aside apprehension,

and instil trust.

Common ground is plain,

similarities observed,

differences now appreciated,

more questions.

Names established,

circumstances accepted,

flesh and bone vulnerable,

yet paths crossed, minds met.

Parting in peace,

'Meeting' of extremes in mind is shown so nicely here in this poem. Great work, Tony. You really amaze me the way you can express the confusions of life in such rhythm in your poetry....
