Memoir of a Perpetual Loser

Updated on August 16, 2016
BeccaHubbardWoods profile image

I am a mother, a metal head, a goth girl, and lover of all darkness. I'm also a writer, a cake artist, and a general weirdo.

Self deprecation at it's finest.

the pursuit of happiness

or so they say

all my rainbows

are the color gray

my ship never came in

it simply set sail

giving me nothing

but the option to fail

i pick myself up

brush myself off

all the while feeling

like a child who is lost

i just want to break

a little help would be nice

and save me the lectures

i've heard it all twice

i try to write beautiful

profound and free

but right now the world

all revolves around me

you could say i'm bitter

angry and sad

and you would be right

truth to be had

you laugh at my fall

mocking and joking

we'll see you laugh soon

screaming my name and choking

for all those who've hurt me

knocked me down a peg

one day it's to me

you'll be on your knees to beg

Thank you so much Gordon. I simply can't make myself write any other way than how I feel at the moment. Something about it seems so fake to me when I try. : )

Poetry is not my normal form of writing but you write well and from the heart - you know how to strike a chord, simply because your words ring true. Sad/arrogant/bloody minded, whatever - this is really good! :)

    Thank you mentalist. :)

gg, I wasn't sad or angry when I wrote this. I was pretty much being arrogant. ;)

Ben, great to see you around. I really need to get back to my HP friends more often. :)

Thank you, all, for your comments and for taking the time to read my rant.

Hey Becca, sad write. i remember writing in anger and disappointment, but thankfully i've overcome my dismal outlook and have learned to live and let live. Peace can be had no other way. People will hurt us forever, we choose which are worth being hurt over.

I do hope you have overcome this moment of bitterness. On the other hand, you have expressed yourself well here.

    peace sister ~ greg

CC, I don't think I could ever 'unload on you' so to speak! You've never hurt me, only encouraged me and supported me. This one was more for those who were supposed to be supporters and ended up as enemies. : )

Poetry Girl, thank you for your comment! Again, nice to see you around. Hope to see you more often. : )

gee I hope you're not having a bad day or anything - I'd just like to give you a hug and say you write like the wind - and that's very much a force of nature!

and p.s. - I am perpetually hooked to your hub slice of life ..... and if this is about you - try to cheer up - there is always tomorrow .... and hope!!!
