Memories In The Bank

Updated on January 25, 2015

More Valuable Than Money

I sit here wondering where did my day go ?

How could it disappear so quickly ?

Without warning another day has already started

The time is 3:03 in the morning

My wife and our lovely cat Charlette are both sound asleep

I watched a few you tube videos

Then read a couple of hubs on HubPages

I got to thinking what will be left of this day

Will there be one single memory that I can go back in my mind ?

To recall how much fun it was

That indeed I had a terrific time

Just relaxing and having fun

Enjoying new ideas and thoughts

Grabbing a bowl of cereal to satisfy my hunger

Then I thought what pictures could I take that would be worth taking

Here are some ideas

A selfie of me typing away on the computer

Quite boring

A picture of my wife curled up in a blanket

My wife would would kill me

A picture of my cat Charlette laying stretched on our kitchen chair

She loves her picture taken

She is a real ham

She thinks she is a Hollywood star

A copy of a hub that I would create that was five pages long

Filled with everything from the five inches of snow outside our window

The picture of our kitchen clock that reminds me that time is still ticking

I could go on and on about the you tube videos that I found funny and interesting

Then again you could go on and find all the videos you like better

We could talk like we have been doing for the next two hours

Then I thought of something better

You can close your eyes and listen to my voice

This is no ordinary day

You have entered into a world that you can not see

You can only imagine

By letting your senses guide you

Then when all is said and done

I hope you will be a little bit happier and all your senses a little bit keener

Using your ears to hear

The sounds that you might of ignored before

Still scratching your head

Thinking what just happened ???

Your body is a little bit chilly

The temperature is 68 degrees in the house

About 22 degrees out

You hear a sudden cough

Then a surprising sneeze

My words in a low monotone voice

I hope I am not coming down with a cold

You suddenly lean away from my direction

If your catching something don't give it to me

You hear the clicking of a camera and feel a quick flash of light

Even though your eyes remain closed

A sudden clanking from outside

Not sure what that sound could be

The soft rumble of the furness going on

The noise came from under the floor boards

From the basement or a downstairs

Not sure if either exist

Because you have no way of knowing

A weak chirp from a smoke alarm

The keys of a laptop being tapped

Also a constant humming I think from the same source

I ringing of your ears

That came out of no where

A wheezing and breathing slightly heavy

All these sounds happening simultaneously

Then one sound triggering the next

You can here a licking sound

Thinking it was my cat who you have heard me talk about so many times before

All these moments might mean nothing to you

To me they are part of my day

That make up my life

So as the house goes silent

Only you will hear the next sound

Because I have gone to bed

You let me know

What strange sounds have filled your world

When I come back to check in on you in the morning

Gypsy Rose Lee It is so nice to listen to silence. I think my best thoughts when everyone is asleep too. Thanks for reading and commenting. Have a great day.

I love it when inspiration hits me in the wee hours. My hubby and cat Sid are asleep. There is no sound but the voices in my head leading me on to write and create. When I'm done only then I can get into bed and go to sleep.
