Mercy's Plea

Updated on August 15, 2011

Mercy's Plea

it is sad testimony, indeed,
to our own inherent creed,
when overcome by lusty greed
we relinquish compassion's lead.

it is a most sad tale to tell
when apathy now rings the bell,
oblivious to the living hell
that, thus, pollutes the human well.

it is so sad that mercy's plea
falls on ears so flagrantly
and life goes on so haplessly
as we ignore our own debris.

Let each awake, to right a wrong...
change the tune to this sad song!
extend a hand and sing along,
embracing love, that all belong.

Thank you, are so right.Perhaps we can't change the world, but...we owe it to ourselves, to the world, and to our Creator, to offer what we have...even if it is mere words...Hugs to you!

So very, very beautiful. The world is really not so large any more. We all interconnect. We all are one. We all belong. When we learn to love one another, without, discrimination, we have reached that mountain top. Thank you for inspiring good will toward all.

Mercy me, your pen is a flowing well and lead by hands unseen to grace these hubs so delicately. You inspire a lot of people who follow you to keep on coming back for more, a true poet in every sense of the word. Let your blessings flow. Hugs

Tender, I'm not sure of much in this world, but I do know what takes to fix all the world's problems.

It's not that I'm particularly smart, but I was unlucky (lucky?) enough to have an abusive alcoholic father and an occupied mother with three siblings younger than I and all needing more of her attention than I. It lead to a life, although alone, of high moral lessons from the films and television of the sixties, to the vastness of the empowering information of the seventies through the computer and technology revolution we have today.

The tools I've had at my disposal have been breathtaking - I'm an engineer/technologist/fabricator/programmer/designer/historian/writer/artist/inventor and having worked for a multitude of businesses, most of whom know nothing of culture or integrity or human need, or care, and personally, more than just a little disenfranchised with everything as it is today.

But the tools and the technology are the key here. What once was vastly expensive, can be had for scrap value - computerized milling machine tools, super computers, vast libraries for countless lessons and data to be gleemed for solutions to our world's problems. For the eons of culture warriors, these individually empowering tools have never existed. It is a time of most majestic opportunity for us all.

The powers that be will only serve themselves. It is up to us, the global people, to embrace these readily available technologies, as well as each other, and literally build that better future for all of us on this "tiny blue marble."

The propaganda machine will never embrace our empowerment, but nevertheless they cannot prevent the inevitable when the populace is informed, truly informed of their options.

I'm, at this moment, in my writing and my art, working on that very message of empowerment, and you my friend, have just lead the way with your most beautiful poem yet...
