"Mike from Oklahoma" by Eric Wayne Flynn

Updated on August 31, 2015

"Mike from Oklahoma"

A destined path, it is wherever we go

Evil; a direction, down to a place you are dragged

Fighting for your life

Who is going to save you when survival is a sin and your very birth granted you this weight

Salvation, seconds, away

For it happens in a blink

But, you're here lit under the moon

You are saying, I understand you

You are saying, you believe

You say, we can't both be crazy

You say, your father commands you harm your brother

He makes you fight each other, and rewards the victor with "love"

He inflicts the devil upon man

He preys upon the youth

You say, right here, even as we speak, lit here underneath that very moon, yes look at it, that very moon

He is inside of you

He be your blood

He was your caretaker

You know him well

He is still alive

He'd be still alive

I say, see the wolf for what it is

Fangs and teeth, protecting the heart

The possession

The possessor; knows not how to love

I see thee

I know your kind

And he says to me, you're the only one who sees him

Well I see him

Who seizes him

I see him

You, believe he exist

I see him

Thank you very much Christine for all the insight and praise you offer here. You seem to understand the message here, and it's not overt or obvious, but the certain things that stood out to you are hard to pick up on in my opinion. Your words "pulsate as the heartbeat of the universe" mean a great deal to me. I try to get lost as I write and I try to tap into a source outside of myself; according to your words I believe that I am doing just that; your words give affirmation to an idea that is abstract in my own mind and then reality once another sees it.

      Thanks so much, as always

After speaking with a friend in the phone, my phone alerted me to a new hub by you, Eric Flynn..

I thought, " Great! I got time to absorb it!"

.I was up for it , as I don't read a lot of hubs, but those I read are important Hub Authors in my life here in these pages. IOW- what I read here, I am not passive about.; If I can't take the time at the moment, I don't read, or even skim, it's disrespectful. That's just me.

      Having said that:

      Mike from Oklahoma

This is not an exaggeration.. This hub, poem, and picture combined pulsate as the heartbeat of the universe *.

"...your very birth granted you this weight..."

      Loving it!

If I were a thief I would steal your Mic (pun intended) and it would be OK (again pun intended ) to run and own these words-all of them. Great Hub!

Those first three lines, entered the stage as a clown, silent, but applaudable, bringing forth truth In grandeur: truth that can only be dug up through the words of a good poet.

I knew then that Mike from Oklahoma was a soul-story of * non-Cathouc origin.

      "...I see him..."

You mixed this like a seasoned alchemist skilled in taking cosmic dust and forming what is real.

      To boot, best pic chosen!

Definite struggle. "Mike from Oklahoma" is an Everyman; subjected to evil; destined to suffer the pangs of his mortal existence.

Thanks for the visit as always Jodah.

Hi Eric, a good and evil struggle appears to be going on here. Can you please explain the title to me "Mike from Oklahoma". Interesting write here.
