Minds Alive to Hear

Updated on September 4, 2011

Minds Alive to Hear

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Seated sound in comfy chairs,

minds alive with questions dare,

the souls of past to bridge the gap,

between the living and skinless wrapped.

Their hands outstretched in pleading stance,

their souls alone with life’s romance.

Not content they won’t let go,

of earthly life and memories known.

Their haunting voices and lilting sounds,

address the willing with pained resound.

Their garbled whirring makes no sense,

an eerie echo of reticence.

They answer not in human thought,

their wills entrenched with dull retort.

Empowered by their lost confusion,

they fight and scrap in death’s illusion.

Remaining in darkness these poor lost souls,

accept not their fate and struggle’s toll.

Until the light entreats them gone,

Their suffering pleas go on and on.
