Miracles...Taken for Granted (a poem of inspiration)

Updated on July 30, 2015
Heavenly conflagration...
Heavenly conflagration...
Since the dawning of human kind...so much taken for granted...
Since the dawning of human kind...so much taken for granted...
The unison of oceans and earth...to present all creatures, at their birth...
The unison of oceans and earth...to present all creatures, at their birth...
The miracle of seeds to grow great trees...
The miracle of seeds to grow great trees...
The seeds of all life...such a magnificent proposition...
The seeds of all life...such a magnificent proposition...
from a simple seed...such grandeur...
from a simple seed...such grandeur...
Never to be taken for granted...as each gracious gift in all of life...regarded in awe and reverence.
Never to be taken for granted...as each gracious gift in all of life...regarded in awe and reverence.

Two seeds...one as a recipient...another, as a benevolence, presented by the other,

Combined...in a fertilization, and as a baby is formed...this, develops inside the mother.

Taken for granted...simplicity, or as complexity...or as an enigma, inside this mystery,

This act to have happened many billions of times.. miracles in plain sight, of humanity.

A single seed dropped from the limbs of a tree...as worthy soil awaits...it to nourish,

The seed is received by the mothering sod...with rain and father sun...then to flourish.

The seed forms a tree, over time, to grow tall and green, as each fond day to pass,

New fruits form on its willing limbs...where more seeds are shared, as they are cast.

A maternal earth awaits, as the oceans to mass...a union of the fine soil and the sea,

Creatures, beyond the greatest of minds, to be imagined...are birthed, and now to be.

Should human kind accept these, as granted...with no significance, nor any grandeur,

The greatest misfortune, this grand circumstance, to be regarded, and as so demure.

The explosion...the conflagration...the beginning of us all...in all of space's celestial bounds,

When will the significance of this fantastic orchestration, be intently heard...as it so resounds?

All to be assumed...seems justly to be presumed, in humanity's mindset...no impact, made.

Then seen as a simple universal escapade, nothing of such majesty, as a heavenly serenade?

A wonderfully inspirational poem whonu, and a tribute to our creator. Everything about our world and life upon it is a miracle of creation. I honestly don't know how it can be realistically explained any other way.

Hi whonu. Your poem is very thought provoking. Every day we see miracles, often not realizing it. To see them as you do in your poem is a wonderful gift we should be thankful for. Thank you for this poem.

WE, as a human race take a lot for granted...not respecting our environment and those around us. Thanks for your review. whonu

"never to be taken for granted"! Oh would that were true. We take so much for granted and should not, whether it is birth or the growth of a plant. Beautifully crafted whonu.

Voted up, useful, awesome, and beautiful.

Life, in all forms, is miraculous. And yes, we take it for granted. But when you put yourself in nature, sit quietly and absorb all around you, the beauty takes your breath away, leading to contemplative thoughts.

This poem does the same, whonu. I love the closing photo. The dimension of it is stunning!

Lovely whonu. It is a beautiful poem about the continuous growth of trees from seeds. It sort of reminds me of a poem which I wrote about trees - only that was destroying them. I voted yours up, shared and pinned it.

The interpretation of creation and the creator are forever to be debated. WE, as human kind, interpret and decide our own feelings about religious beliefs..or to be unbelievers. If a brick could think and have feelings, as a human might...they may ask what their purpose is to be...a part of a big structure or just an individual piece of clay. We approach and decide matters of creation in human terms...assuming we are all that matters. We are just a part of it all and the fact that we think we know is enough for some individuals. Every person has to decide and has the right to do so.As for me...my God and creator deserves my faith in him and all that is to be by his hands.Blessings my friends.

I will always be dismayed as to why many accept the miracles of the Universe, even child birth...the seeds of life that perpetuate us all...and still refuse to believe in a creator...our Lord God and his benevolence...
