Mirror mirror on the fall…

Updated on March 8, 2012

Mirror mirror on the fall…

Sometimes squatting on the haunches

I sit drooping in the winter rainfall

That’s a comfort no one else can feel

Then I submerge in deep thinking of austerity

And I am absent from a period of time

This helps me to start afresh

Every wake is a fresh life

I hide the face from the pain the back feels

And I succeed in getting away from it all

Refusing the mirror I deny my existence

Looking in the mirror

I deny my face

The face doesn’t represent me

Everyone likes the face- can’t be me

Thank you for taking the time to read my poems August. Appreciate your insights. Yes, more or less everyone has to change colors to 'fit in'.

Such is the life of an artist. Being a chameleon can be exhausting. Societal values and personal values, obviously, rarely align but this is our lot. Cheers man, good poem.

Thank You for conveying your feelings Sueswan. I don't think the reflection in our eyes and that in the mirror can ever be the same!

      Hi Deep Metalphysical

I always wondered if the face that we see in the mirror is the same face that others see.

      Voted up and awesome.
