Misfit Poems

Updated on March 8, 2012

So I was bored,

And I went out to the sea

I bulged out giant mutant wings and shredded through the ocean waves

I touched the surface and then ripped out right into the sky

Crashed a couple of planes

Crushed ‘em like flies

But I was still bored

So I thought maybe I’d write something down

I took some paper and wrote a poem then I made a paper airplane of that piece of paper

And it flew out to the end of the universe

Then another piece of paper I wrote another poem

Made a paper boat of that piece of paper

And it sailed across seven seas and five oceans and came back discovering utopia

So I was having a good time

Suddenly the seas rose, the winds grew violent

The trees started a forest fire

The birds started crying

The dogs started barking the wolves started howling

Mothers ablacted their babies to cry

Everyone rebelled

Because I was having a good time.

Thank you for the comment Sheepsquatch. I write free form Haiku. I try to maintain the 17 syllable structure and also the 5-7-5 structure but my primary intent is to make catchy anecdotes through Haiku.

Nice poem. I really liked this one. I read this after seeing your haiku's. They were not the traditional 17 syllable, and I didn't really see an order to them. Do you have a certain approach when writing them?
