Misguided Loyalty

Updated on April 20, 2012

Torn to Pieces

Source

My corner of the world

fits into a niche

designed to serve

underneath a canopy

hidden in the back

away from prying eyes.

Try as I might

the light is far

each step forward

has a forceful push back

that stumbles and blocks

my ascent.

Toiling away

I struggle for the approval and praise

of a selfish heart

whose hate is thick

of torrid thoughts.

Blinded by anger

all the time lashing out

at me who tries to help

cowardly bonds with the weak for support

forever showing the foolishness of age.

False accusations fuel your fire

fail to hide your misguided nature

who can never admit

you trusted the wrong ones

and it’s more your fault than mine.

Prided by loyalty

I had vowed to stay true

yet destroyed more each day

knowing you will never

love me

let alone trust me.

Wow, this is very disappointing in a relationship. Trust is so crutial in making things work out between two people.

A person that has no trust in themselves can hardly trust others.

Darkly beautiful if that makes sense. There is sadness here but your words are spoken in a loving manner. Very well done!
