Mockingbird's Serenade

Updated on February 1, 2017

Every morning, as if awakened by a clock,

Is when the joyful Mockingbird does call,

Often its chirpings heard around the block,

While its musical melodies all do enthrall.

Such a wide selection of each symphony,

Each is so well orchestrated and all alone,

Finest gift on every dawning, in notes so fine,

Is clearest, of clarity in every vibrant tone.

Mockingbird's sing-songs are heard over a hill,

To the top of the tallest trees, and on the fence,

Never knowing when to expect sweet serenade,

To keep us all in an early morning's suspense.

Its name never to reflect such ability, a mocking,

Not in the exposing of its radiance, truest quality.

Marvelous singer of the wild, this feathered friend,

An entertainer, superb, of such marvelous beauty.

Mockingbird, you always help us feel good,

Each admirer to have a much better day,

Every brightest awakening, precious sounds,

We all do share in your own special way.

As the rising sun comes up, to bathe the dawn,

in its warmth and the most vibrant of the light,

Your grand musical salute is so well received,

In every way, it belongs and always is so right.

They are one of my favorite birds. There are so many beautiful ones it's sometimes hard to choose. Mockingbirds are the most vocal in a varying volume and content in their long list of bird sounds. Thanks for stopping by my friend. whonu

Mockingbirds have such a strong song. We have Mockingbirds here in Central Florida. I've gotten "yelled" at a few times if they felt I was too close to a nest.

Mockingbirds do make beautiful music. I love to hear all types of birds sing. I love to bird watch. I bet Deb Hirt would love this poem. I hope she runs across it. The birds in your pictures are lovely. They are just so pretty!
