Moments of Clarity under the Rain

Updated on November 5, 2011

You make me to break me, so watch me shatter all over again

And you claim to ease my heart, only to savor my tasteless pain

And so I have decided to walk away from the past, which is forged out of blood

Stains and tears that through this distressful journey have been smudged

I am done with the poisoning symptoms of denial

Yet I wonder about the significance of such a trial,

As I extend my hand past the heavens and clouds hoping to find

Peace of mind and soul, yet it remains the only thing I am denied

Now in my shattered pieces I lay like an obsolete vase

With both arms around my sulking body in this phase

You break me to mold me, in the hopes to shatter me apart

Only this time you can’t claim my deadly dear heart

For I have cast it away where the sun never shines

Where its ancient purity won’t be tainted by all the lies

Defeated yet victorious I walk through the pouring rain

Searching for a remedy to silence the excruciating pain

We are taught from the epic of Gilgamesh that there is victory in defeat

For man is never happy until the moment his heart stops to beat

You're a poet. That says it all if one understands the calling. I am eager to read more of it. I am amazed it's taken me so long to discover you. Thanks to Ben and your comments on his work, I have!

"my deadly dear heart" "For man is never happy until the moment his heart stops to beat" they need an "Amazing" button because its much more than awesome! and i see a photo from Uraboku up there. :)

Sounds like you have reach your limit of someone or something...and tired of the way it has made you feel. I think you wrote the feelings perfectly.

jenubouka, i was eating my first meal of the day when the verses occurred to me so i left my food and got a piece of paper to write them down :D Thank you for liking the poem :) and i hope it was a genuine reflection of what i really feel.

Ben: i think it is the passion that you mentioned that makes us who we are. Yet by the end of the day the poet doesn't experience the world around him using his eyes, he is a major magnification of the true world as he experiences the whole world's suffering as well as happiness compiled all together~thank you ben :D

Amazing, powerful, emotional, and something I easily relate to, of course. You and I share one thing for sure...and that's the passion in what we write, and how we FEEL it with everything in us.

Beautiful work Uriel! You are gifted in this, no doubt

      :]

"you make me to break me, so watch me shatter all over again."

Beautiful and powerful. This is my favorite to date.

Awesome, vengeful, and a timeless battle among mates.
