Monster ...a dark poem

Ted Bundy Serial killer

You don’t see the monster

That hides right in front of you

If only you would look closer

You may see what is really true

I am no vampire that stalks the night

Nor am I a werewolf that runs free

A human monster hidden in plain sight

As normal seeming as can be

With a charming smile to rival the undead

As wild as any nature born

I don’t need powers to be in your head

Your heart soon will be sworn

My perfect victim you dance

Your eyes so full with trust

Lost in dream totally entranced

Ready for my manipulating touch

More seductive than a cold vampire

More controlled than a beast

I will burn you more than any fire

Being the last lover you ever meet

There is not a trace of remorse

No care of evil or sin

Set solely on my dark course

As I slowly pull you deeper in

There will be no time for goodbyes

When at long last you bleed

The light of life fading from your eyes

Giving me all that I need

I do not kill you to sustain

I do not kill you because it is nature’s way

I simply enjoy the thrill of murderous pain

A true monster hidden in the light of day

A couple years ago I met a guy at a block-party who played football at a college in Milwaukee years before. He told me he once walked into a Milwaukee bar and was approached by a young man who was "throwing a party" at his apartment and there would be young women coming to it. He gave the football player his address and when the football player showed up he was surprised to be the very first guest. The young man brought the football player an opened can of beer and the football player got a weird vibe and left.

Wasn't long after that he found out he'd almost become another victim of Jeffery Dahmer. Dahmer was also the very first suspect interviewed by police in Florida investigated the disappearance of Adam Walsh.

This is probably as good as any other explanation available for the kind of malevolence these people harbor. Thanks for a great read.

Such monsters are far more terrifying than those of ancient lore. The serial killer is impossible for us to comprehend. Another chilling poem, Nighthag; this one with a sharp twist of reality. Always a dark pleasure dropping in.

Its often been said that the fear behind many of the myths of monsters and the like was born when human atrocities where to much for the common people to understand.

Glad it gave you something to think about

      always exploring

SO hard to know who or what to trust in a world where the likes of these men can and have lived next door to so many. As always so glad to see you visit :)

Yeah there is more darkness to be found in the human soul than in any other known creature on earth, scary when you truly take the time to think about it ...

The picture of Dahmper looks so unfeeling, Bundy looks sly. Your poetry captured both of them, sick minds, yet different. The world is a scary place with people like them living next door........ Another gut wrenching piece. Enjoyed.......

damn nighthag! The bitter truth of the cruel world we live in. So many people like that, that kill just for fun, for pleasure, because they are sick and twisted individuals, with a fu*ked up mind.

So chilling and told directly without emotion, just as is the mind of these people who sadly do exist. Evil to their very core. Thank you for this insight, Nighthag, my votes to you.

words that creek through the minds own enemy shelter, that place where we hoard an image of our own perfection, yes, that place, touch it with a sword of any device that the rules of literary, devious to the only place where we feel safe, security in comfort to the patterns of reality that suit our minds girder, tied to purg the air out of our perifrial vision... that is where you strick, that is the minds weakness, and that is where the numb terror of rhetoric can slay any man woman or child, lets just hope that children stay illiterate
