Moon Lit Up The Sky

Updated on March 9, 2017

Preparing Her Ghost

Her actions, tasteful,

her make-up, flawless,

her manners, graceful,

her laugh, infectious,

now she lay on a dark-some street,

blood at her feet,

her body bent,

her soul sent,

her mind spent,

and her ghost grappling with reality,

eyes red,

beauty dead,

her terror when she was attacked

could have caused her mind to react,

and completely shut down,

anguished on the ground,

a savior, never to be found,

preparing her ghost for fight or flight.

Moon Lit

You could hear ghosts cry,

as darkness burned like fire,

and the moon lit the sky,

hell glanced up from the ground,

keeping darkness all around,

there was silence, and no sound,

no concern in the devil’s voice,

as he watched humanity make their choice,

as all hell did break loose,

heaven shook slightly,

and there was the muffled

sound of an explosion,

quiet ripped through the night,

as the earth felt tight,

no light,

then angels howled,

screamed, apparently panicking,

there was war, but no fight,

no one would try,

as the moon lit the sky.

I am in total shock no one has written comments on these. I think these poems are brilliant, Frank. They have your signature dark allure. I think the one called "Preparing Her Ghost" is my favorite of the two, but both are so dark. Anguish, I felt anguish in both from angels and ghosts. I'm sharing these. ;)

Very great and meaningful poems. Preparing her ghost is a very terrific scene reminding the 16th December episode of a girl in a moving bus in Delhi. So much moving and piercing into the heart.

Moon Lit sounds like the end of days. Preparing Her Ghost...powerful. Nice to think that her mind shut down so that when she was attacked she missed some of the horror of it. We often hear that in cases. The mind is a powerful thing not to mention the effects of shock on the body.
