More Musings of a Snow Flake

Updated on March 3, 2011

i know its a little crazy
and a bit outside the norm...
but, then, it is the way of it,
true to my flaky form...
I love to walk in snow fall
as flakes fall from the sky.
it holds a fascination that
all reason does defy...
to don my woolly mittens,
and fuzzy hat upon my head,
enfold my little piggies in
socks knit of cashmere thread...
to bundle in my jacket,
zipped up to my chin...
and wander in the snow fall
to the neighborhood chagrin...
there is some untold magic
that beckons unto me...
when snow flakes dance upon the air
in winter's own Capri.
so, if by chance, you see me...
please make no mere mistake!
your eyes do not deceive you...
it's just this little winter flake!

I love reading and writing poetry. I thought this poem was beautiful. I have a new found admoration for snow even after the many major storms we got in New England got this year. Thanks for sharing.

Paul, I am a native Fla cracker who happens to be visiting my son in Maryland... perhaps that explains my "flakey-ness" lol...I extend a "warm" welcome to you here at Hubpages. You are now among friends!

OMG! CMCastro! I suppose the truth of it is that If I had to drive in it, my musings would be vastly different...I am so glad you did not get stranded on the road in the midst of that snowstorm and made it home to your cozy little bed! Yikes, girl! Just the thought of it gives me a chill! Thanks for the vote!

Hey tnderhrt23, while you were musing at our snowflakes I was struggling in the driving in it. But the next day it appeared beautiful again and I was happy that I did not get stranded on the highway. My triple layers kept me warm that night, but the cozy bed when I got home felt better. As always, you captured the beauty in a marvelous way. I vote Awesome! CM

      I loved to walk alone

in the pines so straight and tall

at peace with life and God

As the silent snow would fall

      Memories of my Iowa days

      Well done!

Very nice. It's amazing how no two snowflakes are exactly alike, just like us humans... hmmmm, the sheer thought of it. I like your poems.
