More Mysteries Of The Mayan Calendar (Article)

People have been examining, pontificating, and fretting about the fact that the Mayan’s ended their calendar on December 21, 2012 for years now, no doubt because the date is fast approaching. The more we read about it the more confusing it all becomes, because everyone has their own opinion as to what it all means.

The Mayan’s were an advanced race of Indians living during thePre-Classic period (c. 2000 BC to 250 AD). They were knownfor their use of fully developed written language as well as fortheir intricate art carvings, advanced architecture and urban design, and knowledge of mathematical and astronomical systems. Where they received this knowledge is in question, but no one can dispute that they have been a highly advanced culture for centuries. The Mayan people live on today.

There have actually been 20 different Mayan calendars found so far. The Mayans believed that man has had nine levels of evolution/cycles or consciousness. Their Tun calendar measured man’s evolution. According to this calendar/chart, 2011 marks man’s entrance into the ninth and final level of consciousness. (This coincides with the Hopi Indian Prophecies) Because of this, some scientists and archeologists now believe that the year of 2011 has even more significance than 2012, when the calendar is supposed to end.

The Mayans believed that man has had nine levels of evolution/cycles or consciousness’s. The photo above represents their ideas as to how man has evolved. The Mayans fashioned their pyramids in accordance with this belief and made many of them with nine levels.

In Numerology, the number nine represents completion. According to the Mayan beliefs, man has now reached the ninth level of evolution. This means that the former cycle has concluded and that we are about to embark on a new way of existence.

Along with the nine levels of consciousness there are thirteen sub-levels. These represent further introductions of new types of consciousness. The thirteen sub-levels correspond to the time frame that God created the Universe –– in seven days and six nights (6 + 7 = 13).

Dr. Calleman has been studying the Tun calendar for many years. He believes that the dates for the introduction of each new sub-level (every 18 days) within the ninth level of consciousness are as follows:

1st Day begins on March 9, 2011
1st Night begins on March 26, 2011
2nd Day begins on April 13, 2011
2nd Night begins on May 1, 2011
3rd Day begins on May 19, 2011
3rd Night begins on June 6, 2011
4th Day begins on June 24, 2011
4th Night begins on July 12, 2011
5th Day begins on July 30, 2011
5th Night begins on August 17, 2011
6th Day begins on September 4, 2011
6th Night begins on September 22, 2011
7th Day begins on October 10, 2011
7th Day ends on October 28, 2011

Dr. Calleman believes that on October 28th humanity will essentially reach the conclusion of evolution within this three-dimensional existence. He thinks that there will “simply be no place left for us and the Earth to evolve except to shift up to a higher state or a higher dimension, which ultimately will be the fifth dimensional plane.”

It sounds exciting, but a bit unsettling. String theory tells us that the Universe is made up of many different dimensions. Could it be possible that the Mayans had figured out String Theory long before we did? Maybe they had outside help from the Universe.

I'm not losing any sleep over it either, Liz. It is merely the end of a cycle, and whatever happens is supposed to happen. You're right, there's NOTHING anyone can do to alter it.

The deceased spirits who have been talking to mediums are telling us that we should get ready for a big change, but they are all saying it will occur in 2015, not 2012. We need to do exactly as you suggest--live our lives as if the change is coming and either prepare for the worse or get our house in order. Either way, what's the difference? I for one would not want to be a survivor in a global catastrophe... I couldn't survive a month without my medications anyway and I have no wish to try to struggle to find food and water to keep going just to continue to exist on Earth. Heaven's a much better place anyway! :o)

The way I look at it, is thus: If those who interpret this as the 'end of the world.' are wrong, then so what? No worries.

Conversely, if they are correct, again, so what? There is not a blamed thing anyone can do about it.

So--"carpe diem." One day at a time, live each day to the fullest, and don't waste your days worrying about something that may or may not happen.

My feeling in any case, is that it is not the "end of the world," but the end of a cycle. Cycles repeat, cycles change, cycles end, and new ones begin.

I'm not losing any sleep over all of this.

      Great hub, Christine!
