More White Stuff Heading This Way

Updated on February 5, 2014

Winter Is Not Over Yet

Falling ,falling everywhere I look

I see walls of white

Here I go making my way through

Sinking little by little

Deeper and deeper

I knew I should of wore boots

Now I feel the coldness inside my sneaker

Lucky I have gloves on to keep my hands warm

As my head takes on the cool air

First it feels refreshing then it gives my body a chill

I look as far as the eye can see

Everything is still

Sixteen more inches I heard is on it's way

My word

Another storm on Sunday is suppose to be two feet

Just the other day I was so proud to say

The snow is almost gone

It's been melting all week long

This winter I can't complain

I have shoveled only twice

Maybe I spoke to soon

I heard six more weeks of winter

Since that darn ground hog seen his shadow

As a plow rumbles on by

I look up high in the sky

Only you know what your going to do

I wonder if your done for the night

Well I am going in to get warm

Next time I come out

I will finish the snow shuffling I have started

For now it can wait

I am not going out anytime soon

I check for mail and shovel around the mail box too

I see blurry bright lights in a distance

Another plow making it's rounds

They are very happy to see each mound of snow

If they had their wish they would like to see it never stop

It's the fifth of February the year is 2014

Another person who is really happy

Is my nephew who had a birthday

He turned seventeen

For every person who likes the snow

There is one who doesn't

I have mixed feelings

I guess it really depends if I have to go to work or not

If I have to go to work

Then I have to drive slow in the snow

It takes me more time going and coming home

Avoiding an accident that might just happen

If I am off

I can hide in the house

Go on the computer or watch t.v.

Play with my cat and wait until the snow stops

Wait till the roads are clear

Then go on with my day

Loving snow from far away

I loved the journey through the snow. We could use more snow we've had too little here in Latvia and two ski resorts already closed up. Why should I worry? Because this is unusual and when anything unusual happens here it usually means that soon we could get blasted with snow that just won't stop.

Michael-Milec I am probably one of the few who like to shovel. I enjoy the fresh feeling of the cold snow. So white and clean. Thank you for reading and leaving such nice comments.

      Good evening Dream-On.

Very nicely done a verbal picture of your " snowy " day. Every winter, every new snowfall is exciting full of surprises experience. This season more so. Almost every week new snow inches of accumulation, temperature in teens, nights up to -15 F , feeling like -27F and all that free of charge! I just love it since childhood. All world around you is of the same color ( to be politically correct, no name calling) , it's the best test of your health condition and gives ample opportunity for exercise.

Keep up with good work .

      Voted interesting.

      Good night.

Jodah It is amazing to see white bits of snow falling from the sky.Like rain but actually pieces that land that you can hold in your hand. I find it so interesting to hear about other places I have never been. Thank you for sharing and reading my stories my friend.

Jodah I can send you some snow through the mail if you would like. In small amounts it can be a lot of fun. When you get too much in can be a struggle. I have never seen a kangaroo either.Maybe some day we can both switch. I would be happy to skip this winte . Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. Have a great night.

Great poem about what it's like to live through a snowy Winter. I have never experienced snow in real life, but your fine description had me feeling as if I was there. Well written Dream On.
