More Than Magic (poem)

Updated on August 28, 2014

They fell in love in springtime

In summer made each day

In fall they cherished moments

And winter went away

-

It was more than magic

At work to set the scene

Windswept dreams appearing

Made heartbeats so pristine

-

Timeless and eternal

Was instant that they kissed

So they passed dawn’s glory

Lavishing lovers’ mist

-

They fell in love in springtime

In summer made each day

In fall they cherished moments

And winter went away

-

Summer brought horizons

New wonders to explore

And all those youthful kisses

Fresh winds would blossom more

-

Each day was a promised

Adventures few have known

The blessing of the season

Seemed made for them alone

-

They fell in love in springtime

In summer made each day

In fall they cherished moments

And winter went away

-

Leaves of time began to fall

As they danced away the night

And cuddling by a fire

Their memories held tight

-

Two lovers on hilltop

With sun about to set

And there within a kiss

Was the day which they met

-

They fell in love in springtime

In summer made each day

In fall they cherished moments

And winter went away

Once again, you present to us such beautiful and yet sad poetry. Bravo, Martin!

This is beautiful and sad at the same time. Did they die in the winter? Or is winter symbolic of old age?
