Morning on the Beach

Updated on April 7, 2014
Source

The night flew away like a bird in flight

There is a seamless quality to the day

(as if my cares too, quietly flew away)

The writer knits the string that holds the day

Each stitch cast on lightly, child's play!

Avett Brothers

Hi tireless, thank you, I was playing with that, had written many versions to do with spinning, weaving, threads, but I went with what I know.

The writer knits, is a beautiful metaphor.

It might be about child's play, but your poem is far from that, it's deep and mature. Love the painting, too.

There is lightness in touch and words in both the poem and watercolor…yet so profound in meaning and depth. Beautifully done. :-)

mckbbks you are fast! The poem (if I may call it that) was written a couple of months ago. The painting though is vintage (me too) Thank you very much.
