Mornings In May (poem)

Updated on April 16, 2015

All that remains of mornings in May

Dreams which we made nighttimes away

Moments so real hearts will now say

Here in this time forever will stay

Kisses rejoice all that we did

Joys which we danced through nothing was hid

Promised refreshment there in our mid

Doors to explore oceans forbid

Daylight’s delight enchantment of May

Each finding more in whispers we hid

Fountains of hope found us the mid

Rainbows we cast for things meant to stay

Seasons have times which dim as we did

World we once knew was taken away

Here is my love a wind heard us say

Ways we once viewed shadows forbid

Sighs in the night are destined to stay

Dream which we lived still has much to say

Promise we knew has drifted away

All that remains are mornings in May

Very reflective poem, Martin. Time and people change with the seasons, but memories last forever.
