Most Misheard Song Lyrics - Funniest Misunderstood Song Lyrics

Updated on September 29, 2014

We've all been there before, driving down the road singing a song, and our friend or significant other says what did you just say? We all have heard a wrong lyric here or there. We know the strange lyric makes no sense but what else could the singer possibly be saying. Right now billions of people are listening to music and singing the wrong words. It's an epidemic that is only getting worse. Singers these days don't know how to enunciate there words correctly, well singers from a while ago weren't very good at enunciating either.

It took me 31 years to figure out that the song "Blinded by the Light" lyrics were not "wrapped up like a douche, another roller in the night." I listened to that song hundreds of times but each time it simply seemed like the only thing the singer could possibly be saying. So I drove down the road singing about a wrapped up douche, wondering what the heck this guy talking about. One day I finally looked up the real lyrics and I still have not clue what the singer is talking about.

I have searched the web for the most misunderstood song lyrics and came across a gold mine of information. The most useful being a few videos showing the actual wrong lyrics and why listeners interpret the lyrics that way. No one is safe from the misunderstood song lyrics, Singers from decades ago to right now have their songs being sung incorrectly.

So this is my attempt to help the people such as me who though it was indeed a wrapped douche for most of their lives. Hopefully we can eradicate the problem of misheard and misunderstood song lyrics so not one more song is butchered and sung incorrectly.

As for the singers who are the heavy rock and metal rock artists, you need to say your words more slowly and stop screaming so much. This is creating quite a problem for your listeners. Hope this helps listeners out there, but even if it doesn't it's pretty darn funny. My favorite being the interpretation for the song "Blue Da Be Dee." Its been a while since I laughed that hard.
