Mother’s Day - Haiku

by

Dr. Darryl Winer

The journey begins

Hand in hand and warm embrace

Their future beckons

Rising inside her

A joyous nascent being

Paired hearts in concert

Introducing life

Taking two and making three

She creates family

Truest precious gift

Lifts woman into mother

Her sacred blessing

Tiniest of hands

Grasp and flail in blind pursuit

Soothed by gentle stroke

Steady quiet love

Gentle emotional touch

Nurturing her child

Generations pass

Grandmother and grandmother

Unspoken connections

The softness of love

In her voice and in her touch

Limitless caring

Carried in her arms

Ever carried in her heart

Though the years unwind

Unconditional

Solace, love and affection

Boundless forgiveness

Open arms and heart

Benevolent sacrifice

Love as sole motive

      Good morning Bhogi-

Glad you enjoyed these. Every day I see my wife's great joy and boundless beauty in all forms bubbling up in our children. She provided my most important legacy. Next month we will be married 40 years.

We're lucky to be blessed with wonderful women.

      Thanks for coming by.

Again (after father), a beautiful piece. And, just like you, I am blessed to hold my wife of 39 years (what are the odds?).

      Oh gosh Beyond-

I'm so sad to hear this. I wish you comfort and peace, where ever you may find it. Perhaps this will reveal itself in a mother-in-law, a daughter, or granddaughter. Regardless, I hope everyday is brighter for you.

DW, mothers come in different shapes and colors, not everyone gets the bright loving one for that matter, somebody has to draw the dark one once in a while... But on a bright note, there is plenty of wonderful women around who really are making the difference and spread the love with their caring hearts and souls and I am truly grateful for that even if I will never be able to get it from my own family...

I see it in action from my wife and mother of my children, now for 36 years.
