Mountain Tops

Updated on March 7, 2013

We Can Only Go Up From Here

Look at the view

All I can see is peek after peek

My heart races with excitement

I am in my own little world

The pleasure I could never have imagined

So peaceful so serene

I know the world is filled with motion

So even as I speak this moment changes

Am I here to escape or just hide away ?

To be safe and for one moment feel what it feels to be alive

Not letting anything or anyone else cloud my judgement

I can smell the freshness of the air coming into my lungs

So pure as if it was just made

See beauty untouched by human hands

Where nature has outdone itself

Creating life and the world

So we can experience it

There is no scene so cold but yet so warm

I feel my body envigorating and so charged

Where the sky is all around me and the heavens are breath taking

For there is only now

As I close my eyes and pray

Thank God for this very day

KathrynStratford Mountains are forever.Visions of beauty.High up in the sky clouds floating by.mary615 I am so happy to share.Thanx for finding the time to care.Life is wonderful when people are honest and nice like the mountain tops covered with ice.Looking at all the trees I know life is special as a mountain breeze.Eiddwen Weekends are interesting like the deer and the bears that roam wild.Watching the birds scatter and the light shining in and out of the trees.DDE Every day is a little bit different and a little bit the same. All this beauty would be so nice to frame.Thanx everyone and may you all have a wonderful day.

Beautiful. I love being on a mountain. I am not close to one now, but your poem brought me there in my mind!

billybuc I am in spirit.Where beauty shines even on the cloudiest of days. You can feel the rain when it is miles away. You can see every star as if they were made especially for you. When it thunders the world shakes.Lightning strikes lighting up the sky like a flare at night. What a wonderful place to be.Thanx for sharing and letting me touch your world if only from my mind.Have a fantastic day.

This is where I am home, in the mountains. This is where I feel closest to God. Nice job speaking for me in this poem.
