Mouthful Of Marshmallows

We have to find a way

I heard an old saying it went something like this...

When life is tough and gets you down punt

I am not sure what it really meant but to me it meant when life gets you down find a solution

Punting was the best solution

Well in my case when I am having the worst day I have had in a long time

I go into the kitchen cabnet and gorge myself with marshmallows

I mean I eat so many at one sitting they are coming out of my ears

How does that help I don't know

All I know is when I am eating them I like them

The squishy feeling has to be theraputic in some way

Maybe thinking back when I was a kid and the only time I ever had marshmallows was in hot chocolate on a cold winter day

Then in the summer if we went camping on an open fire on a stick

Where they were brown or sometimes black

We had two or maybe three and that was just enough for me

Then all of a sudden I felt this nauseous sickning sweet feeling

That I felt ill

That instantly I did not want to eat anything sweet ever again

Then as the months passed all was forgotten

Funny how life makes us forget the bad things that happen

So all we have left is the good

For a little while any way

The funny thing is I never thought marshmallows get old

I would pull the same package back into the cabnet until they were gone six months later

They seemed fresh as long as I put a twister on it

The thought never crossed my mind what can be opened and last for six month on a shelf and be eaten again without going bad
