My Universe Within

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Vast, open expanse,

my mind, like a universe within me,

beckons me to explore the farthest reaches,

the darkest corners,

the secrets held by nature’s breath.

Thoughts float weightless,

within my vacuum,

seeking expression, understanding,

the yearning of substance.

One by one, grasped by will,

masses form, planets born,

suns instil with light,

and words ignite upon a page.

My universe spews from void,

expressions alive and imbued with intent,

and nothing becomes everything,

birth the miracle of life’s course,

infinity now a spout

to the possibility of my mind.

Within my void is everything,

nothing with a limitless potential,

to be what I will,

what I the master of my universe so deems.

My mind, my being expands,

to the corners of darkness,

expressing suns and planets,

life and death,

will and surrender.

Vast, endless mind,

thoughts plucked, words ensue,

and I am a Sun,

my universe within.
