Musical Peace

Updated on June 21, 2013

Where we do we begin when we write about music

When it’s on we attempt to fuse it with our strings

Closing our eyes as headphones ring and invite us in

To the majesty of imagination others had before us

Feeding our souls with invisible dust

Music becomes the map

Feet in our mind walk and take us back

Through childhood memories of dragons and royalty

Drowned in the ambiguity of human emotional loyalty

Displaces us in lyrical story based on everything others have felt

People with a pencil and a vision who kindly ask us to melt

In their music

As it travels up like a hot air balloon in the night sky

Touches feelings lightly and asks you to remember

Yourself - Reminding us nobody is perfect and we all can forget

Where we belong with a full circle journey traveled in song

We can come home

And if our heart is where we are going then live and let listen

Sparking the space behind our eyes and drenching our heart till it glistens

Fight our way up through miles of emotional release

Reaching the surface we discover we were just lost in

Musical peace

Music can be very therapeutic for all kinds of ailments. I just love to listen to music as it always gets me into a good mood.

Thanks Wayne! This sort of style seems to fit best with my life and my free time right now. I enjoy it. It's sort of like conversational poetry, in a way. Appreciate the feedback.

Daniel, very well written. Like the music you refer to, this had great rhythm and flow.
