My Black, My Skin, My Melanin
A Poem Written by me and my sweet Little daughter pictured above
How powerful we are
Shining Like the brightest star
Marcus Garvey and the maroon Nanny have left us goals to reach
None of which includes our black beautiful skin we bleach
Black women, you are more than just your body
You are of inner and outer beauty
Black men, pull up your pants, you are kings of this nation
Remember, you are Gods greatest creation
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
Strong words from Robert Nesta Marley
The color of my skin makes me who i am
Strong, Black, solid like Mount Zion
Rise up my brothers, rise and become great
Let us move forward as a United Race
Come my people, let us make our forefathers proud
Let us silent racism, let our achievement speak loud
Remember what our fathers were whipped for
What our mothers were molested for
We are the children of pain, but we are the children of greatness
The earth, the stars, the pyramids are our fortress
Wake up my brothers, the crown you wear is given to you because you were the first
Wake up my sisters, stand beside your kings, as time shortens, so will this curse
Black Royalties, stop, listen, open up your eyes
The tides have shifted, now it is time to rise.
