My Box of Colored Memories

Updated on April 27, 2015

I have this box

Where I put all my memories

At first it was just monochromatic

Just me and my life

Then out of the blue he came

Showered me with care and love

The memories that was once dull and lifeless

Turns into a hue of rainbow

The box glitters with smiles

But then he made my tears fall down

One by one I picked up the fragments

Of my broken heart

I put a piece into the memory box

And shut it tight

Waiting for the day

For someone to open it again

And heal my broken heart

This box of memories

Although it does not only contain smiles

Will always be the remembrance

That once I lived, I loved and been loved.

Memories are golden and should never be thrown away. I kept my special box of memories close to me and only looked back in that box when I had healed from within. It is difficult to hold onto memories. Great hub.

Memories of love even lost memories of once being loved, are a lot better than having no memoties of love ...pain and all. Good poem. Up and more and sharing. Hugs, Faith Reaper

Our memories are precious, Spy. Even the bad ones can have shades of brightness when enough time has gone by.

When we have lived and loved we have many memories, some with mixed emotions. A lovely poem.

Of course, the memory that you once loved brings hope. Hang on to those memories. Good poem.

Nat King Cole sang this song, "is it better to be loved and lost than never to have been loved at all? I wonder, I wonder, I wonder..." I have not thought about that song in YEARS, but your last entry brought the memory of his words back in full force.

LOVE the photo of the box and the bubbles coming out. I think many people have a box of memories hidden away...mine is a cedar box in my dresser drawer with a conglomeration of joy and sadness.

I PRAY the person you mention in your poem is not real and that it is just a poem...the thought of someone breaking your heart makes me super sad. I can truly feel the pain you describe in your excellent poetry.

My sister went through it last year...it was an awful time...and I have walked that road too.

Your poems share your heart with readers, and the accompanying photos are unique and exquisite.

Just so you know I have a prayer list I read out loud to God every morning... and you have been on it for at least 3 years.

Blessings always and thank you. Sparklea
