Do You have a Desperado in Your Life?

Updated on August 21, 2016
Faith Reaper profile image

When Theresa writes poetry, the inspiration comes from her or her family's true life experiences, which results in dramatic poetry.

Do You have One in Your life?

Do you have a loved one or know of a friend who is your “desperado” in this life, and your heart just breaks for your “desperado” to stop wandering and see what is right in front of his or her face? I believe we all know a person like this, who just seems to be a little lost along the way, and keeps trying and searching, but is never satisfied in this life. These are just my thoughts to one who may be a “desperado” in this life.

Source

My Desperado,

You must choose a path in life.

Some things that are pleasing are harmful, you know this.

Living for money, like the song says, she’ll beat you!

Remember that true love is your friend.

Let down your walls,

The psychological ones that protect your bruised ego.

Allow someone with a good heart to love you.

My Desperado,

You have been wandering your whole life,

Never committing fully to anything lasting.

All these things you are doing right now

Are not setting you up for any happiness in the future.

Choosing one whose heart is big, is a much better choice

Than the showiest or most thrilling ones.

The one, who is true, will be the one who cares for you.

My Desperado,

You have been given a lot in this life,

But you only desire those things that you cannot have.

Love has been placed before you, but you do not want it,

As there is always something that seems more appealing,

Although this is not really the case.

Your heart breaks and you hunger for true love.

My Desperado,

It is past time, as time waits for no one.

You want to be free and not tied down,

But you are walking around this world all alone.

And the way things are going, they will never change, you know this.

What is good? What is bad?

They are hard to tell apart now,

As they now have become too similar.

Source

My Desperado,

Remove that veil from your eyes!

Stop wasting another minute of your precious life,

And allow real love to touch your heart.

Let people in, who know what it means to really love,

Not those who are clueless as to what real love even means.

Open up, and let love in.

Inspire to change.

My Desperado,

My most concern for you is

That you will go numb, emotionally,

From your inability to let someone in your life

Who really knows love, for without such,

Your life will become meaningless and flat.

You’re always looking for something bigger and better,

But that one, who is beautiful on the inside, will bring you happiness.

Source

My Desperado,

What are you thinking?

There is One who offers unconditional love,

Who will be there for you in the long run.

You have been wrapped up in your life,

Stubborn and hardheaded.

Live for love, and the rest will work itself out.

Time is passing by and you are missing out.

My Desperado,

You have a great life already.

It is right in front of you.

But you want that new car and big house,

And getting caught up in the trappings of money

Will only end up with you losing everything.

When it all falls apart,

While you, there, jaded to the beauty around you.

Source

My Desperado,

Start to figure it out before it is too late.

You have freedom,

But you realize now it is not the kind of freedom you expected.

Another realization is that

You have become emotionally and mentally alone.

There is no warmth in your heart when you are alone,

Lost in depression of what your life has become.

My Desperado,

You still have a chance to change things around,

Observing how easy it is to fall into this situation.

So take heed now, why not?

Stop this hard front you have been living!

For you are realizing it is the gate to step through.

It may be tough to do right now,

But if you do, you can get it back,

My Desperado!

I really enjoyed your Desperdo Faith.. It's that person who just lingers on the edge of Faith.. aaaahhh? LOL But if provoked can we admit to being someone else's desperado? I love the grouping of words and how you carefully chose them to make this..message? clear .. I think my desperado would have to be my clone... again voted Faithfully up and awesome Frank aka the shadow desperado.... BOOOYAAAA

I think there are many desperadoes like this that we come across in life, Faith, and they seem to have a fascination for others, unfortunately. They may be better left alone, if you want peace and happiness without the pain of trying to reach someone who is not emotionally available. Lovely words from you, as usual, and your pictures are stunning!

      Faith,

You are an intuitive, warm and comforting friend...so filled with inner strength and faith, that these words pour from your pen naturally.

Selecting the Linda version of this gut wrenching song was the perfect touch.

And yes, I know someone...but you knew that. Love you, Maria

I love that "shadow desperado", and I don't know if I coud handle two (clone) Franks : ) as I am very happy with the one!

      Hi Dearest Mary,

Always great to see you stopping by to read.

Yes, it does break one's heart to see them so unhappy in this life, and continuing to just wander here and there, and then they are up one day and down the next, and really never happy with the status quo in this life. Although, I believe they could be very happy, if they would just stop and look around them and realize just how much they are loved and to just enjoy each day and be satisfied in the simple pleasures of this life right now in the present.

I appreciate your lovely words as to my hub, as well as the vote up and share!

      Faith Reaper,

Angel lady, I need to remember to bring tissues with me when I come to your hubs ;-)

This is so absolutely beautiful and a little bittersweet. You put into words so eloquently what I never could, what I wish for, for those I love, those that struggle. There were moments that made me think of myself in here as well. Just glimmers, but enough to make me really think. This simply just touched my heart and mind and soul. The pictures are gorgeous and I have never heard this version of Desperado by Linda Ronstadt; it was perfect. Such a selfless message and I'm sharing everywhere. Thank you for being beautiful and so compassionate about others.

      Up, beautiful and awesome too!

Again, your faith shines through. Not just your faith in God, but your faith in people. "Let people in, who know what it means to really love" that is what I'd like to tell the desperado in my life.

This was beautiful from start to finish and shows so much insight into the human psyche.

      Voted up, useful, and awesome.

Yes, it must go back since the beginning of time, that desire to want things we cannot have. It is of the flesh, I guess, and plus with us just being the humans we are, it is most likely a normal process we must go through, and some seem to never quite get there, which is so sad indeed.

What words of wisdom you have woven into these lines....too often those we love do miss out because they are seeking what is so transitory.

There is One who offers the love that is truly boundless and expects nothing...how awesome that is.

Dear beautiful Faith Reaper! I've been lost for a while in HubPages. In and out I go. Where I wandered? Only I know, lol!

Yours is a beautiful set. Many caring thoughts to learn and consume in one's own desperate moments where 'love' seeks 'love' to be able to continue living in loving. He, the Great Lover of all Universes, to man and His creatures, grants no lose in faith for the one desperate in heart's search for love. Only man must keep up with hope and as you've said..."Allow someone with a good heart to love you. Open up and let love in..."

Thank you for linking my poem here on your hub page, Faith Reaper. It brings a big smile to my heart. I would love to do equally the same for your poem linked to mine and share it on my FB Poetry Page- Passionate Poetry of Poetic Hearts!

Oh, my precious, beautiful friend, Tess (coffeegginmyrice),

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful and profound thoughts here. I have missed you truly here on HP and your amazing writing too! We all have to do our wandering in life at times, and it is through that seeking, hopefully, we find what it is we are really searching for in this short time we have here on this planet.

Your comments are very beautiful, but not as beautiful as you and your heart . . . so much love for others. I appreciate your beautiful presence here and on HP.

Oh, I would be so honored for you to link my hub. You are so very gracious to do so.

I appreciate the share on your FB Poetry Page - Passionate Poetry of Poetic Hearts ---I love that title to your FB Poetry Page.

This speaks to us all, even those who think they are not "desperados." I love all the photos and how the writing flows right up to and reflects the quote from "Amos." You convey the simple truths of spiritual fulfillment, and although you do this in a variety of levels in your writing, it is here that your writing shows it starkly. Voted up and awesome.

This is an absolutely beautiful heartfelt poem of love dear precious sister. It is a cry out to the wilderness.

May Gods love continue to abound in you to touch others with the light that shines in you girl. He will no doubt. Your pictures are exceptional and wonderous. Well done good and faithful servant.

For the grace of God go I. I was a desperados. God was working on me. It was when I was humbled to my knees I heeded His name. I am humbled and honored He came for me. Let us continue to pray for the desperados Amen. There are many. I believe God is working on them through many of HIS children. He is touching the desperados. He wants none to perish no not one. It is painful to see we want no one to hurt and know there is one that can heal us up and has all the answers. My Love, Skye

I truly believe those who are searching and searching, will find Him and be redeemed in the most amazing ways, way beyond anything they can even comprehend at this moment.

Thank you for sharing that part of your life with me. We are all desperados at some point in our lives. Then, all that is left is to look up!

This is so beautiful! My sweetie is my "desperado" . And as a matter of fact. Our first date the song "desperado" by the group Eagles was playing.

We both love this group and so many of their songs. We have been blessed for a nine year closeness. Before he walked through this world alone.

Now, we walk together..because he knows I am his Queen of Hearts, and those "Queen of Diamonds" in his life kept beating him.
