My English Teacher
The day has come at last, which we always dreaded so much,
To bid you adieu.
We can be separated physically,
But make a vow to be with you spiritually.
The chairs, benches and boards
Seem to salute you.
Why should it not be?
For you have loved all lifeless objects as your dearest dear.
You bath us in your Divine light,
To dispel our darkness of ignorance.
We have learned about virtue and vice,
Keeping you as an epitome of knowledge.
We all pray to God to make you live long,
As our friend and philosopher,
Who will release us from all sins
And make us purest of pure.
This is an ardent wish
From the Students of every Class,
To preserve you in our Hearts,
Until and unless we ourselves are no more.
