My Freedom (poem)

Updated on March 25, 2011

Trying to please you

is like an endless climb

to the highest peak

with no support.

Can't see the top

I drift to the edge,

pulled in by one kind word

now and then

but hardly enough.

Always thinking I'm at fault

not doing enough

work that sees no end.

Trying to cover,

to prop and hide,

chains forever linking me to you.

Your words lash out

like swords to my heart.

I struggle for freedom

to end this climb.

Yeap, if we just believed more in freedom instead of being control freaks we would be better off in this world!
