My Girls

Updated on March 18, 2017

Sticky fingers,

runny nose,

crooked pig-tails,

tickles-toes.

Little girls from Heaven,

a mother's pleasure-

certainly a treasure.

Jasmine, Desiree, Sydelle, and I-

What a troop,

my oh my.

Temper tantrums,

crying eyes-

pains of growing-by and by.

Colored pictures, on the walls-

tell a tale of it all.

Through the tough times-and the fun times,

Love abides,

in my little darlings eyes.

Frustration and laughter-

come and go-but don't you know?

A mother's heart stays strong and true,

because she gave it-

to little girls like you!

Precious poem! Love the lilting way this poem works out--like little girls playing in the shade of a big tree on a breezy day!

After hearing some unpleasant news about a 16 year-old niece's foolish tumble on the road of life, your poem My Girls is a warming godsend Heather. Wanna trade one niece for one daughter lol.

To Alastar: Lol. I hear you. It hurts to see the one's we love choose paths that are destined to be uphill all the way. I always tell myself that everything happens for a reason. Hope that helps. (I am thankful for my daughters, and I tell them daily. I know that when tough times come, they circle the wagons.)

Wonderful poem about your love of your daughters. Children are so special and they teach us so much if we only listen and observe. Voted all but funny.

My friend within the tough exterior of your veneer lies a heart both tender and tired. This poem, to me, shares the depth of feeling that you have for your girls. They are blessed to have a mother who's heart feels for them every day. A lovely poem for sure!
