A Poem To Lost Australian Soldiers. My Handsome Aussie Soldier Haiku.
My Handsome Soldier
My handsome soldier
So long ago forgotten
In a far off land
A Handsome young soldier never identified. Photo from the Australian War Memorial's collection. Taken they believe around 1915-1918.

Beautiful haiku. So many of our brave soldiers are lost in foreign lands never to be found again or known what happened to them. Very poignant!
Voted up, beautiful and shared.
Sad, but sometimes this happens during wars. My German girlfriend never did know what happened to her father during World War 2. I saw a memorial in the town of Herrenberg, Germany (her home town) where her father's name and a bunch of other names were inscribed. The towns people never knew what happened to all of them. This Aussie soldier was a handsome young man. You have memorialized him with your haiku poetry. Up and sharing.
Boy.. the soldier... is handsome... I was a leader cadet of the NCC at my school and state level...
nice haiku
Just beautiful moonlake, and I am drawn to your photo of the unknown Aussie Soldier as I know someone who looks identical and could only be related!!! The likeness is amazing.
My votes and best wishes to you and sharing.
Loved it!
Beautiful Haiku and very touching tribute, excellent work and voted up.
Moonlake: What a sensitive tribute to one of the world's unknown soldiers and to one of Australia's handsome men!
Thank you for sharing, etc.,

Nice, thanks.
thanks for your hub! i love reading Haiku..
Hi, he is so lovely, such a shame that he can't be found out who he was, its very close to my heart at the moment because I am trying to find my long lost grandad that came from Canada, I have just one old photo and don't know his name either! cheers nell
I love it Moonlake. Wonderful.
This is a lovely and well written tribute to the handsome soldier. He was someone's baby boy, someone's sweetheart, someone's hero. Very touching and thought out. Thank you. Hyphenbird
Touching Haiku, wish we knew the story behind those gorgeous eyes.
He is very handsome indeed!
So many Aussies have given their lives for this accursed Britain. And got little thanks for it. Poignant verse...Bob
Nice Haiku.
now this is good for me. My Nan got involved with an Aussie solider staying in England and low and behold thanks for my Mum.
