My Kitten Thinks She Is A Parrot
Two Pets Rolled Into One
I sit here trying to type a few words before I go to bed tonight
Out of the blue
I feel something jump on my back
I feel claws dig in
Then up my neck
I look and it is my favorite feline
She climbs over the top of my head
I think she thinks I am a human perch
Maybe she should have colors of bright blue and a tint of red
She could repeat words like Lovely.Sexy,And Go To Bed
I would sit there and smile
As she repeats what I think and my wife says all the time
Each day may seem boring to so many
When nothing real exciting happens and no new adventures to tell
But for me It is one of many
Days that start out like heaven and end in hell
Each day reads like the Guiness book of records
Each of her feats is out done by another
By one funny kitten who thinks she is a parrott
She wants her head rubbed constantly
She climbs on every place she is not suppose to
She is far from shy
Then she stands almost completely still
Then she would peck if she could
Under my chin to catch my attention
There she would sit for hours on end
Until she is hungry again
Not realizing she ate just ten minutes ago
Back to the bird feeder to eat
She is always in the middle of mischeif and trouble
I know she has fur instead of feathers
Constantly licking it making sure shes clean
If you open any door she will be inside it before you know what has happened
Climbing way in back to disappear from sight
Up on a window sill before long
Trying to climb the walls to the ceiling
Soon up on the highest point in any room
Which would be the flat screen t.v. set
Trying to balance herself on one leg forgetting she has another
Above the kitchen cabnets
On any counter she sees fit
Won't listen to a word we tell her
Not understanding that she is no light weight
When things begin to fall
She high tails it out of there
Before the real damage has set in
She again sits looking at me
Like I am your favorite parrot or kitten I will let you choose
What could I possibly do
That you haven't seen already
I have chewed every wire
I can climb in the middle of any light
Only to see the inside I have never seen
Go after any chain or dangling string
I will begin to chew
If you only knew
How many things I have broken
That alone should of given me enough
To my claim to fame
If you only gave me a perch
Instead of cat bed
My body could circle underneath and poke my head out each time
Balancing myself until I fall
Not to worry I am quite the acrobat
I can find any window without directions and a map
I will go nose to nose with you in seconds
I will go anywhere I can not be reached
If there is a place that you don't want me to be
Then you better watch me close
Better yet hold me tight
Because in the next moment I am taking flight
