My Life Is More Than Just Dirty Socks

Updated on August 15, 2013

Even Though They Caught My Attention First

My nose started to rise

As the tears in my eyes began to flow

Oh what could that smell be ?

No it couldn't be ?

What else could it be ?

Yes I am afraid to tell you

Because you might think less of me

My dirty socks never made it to the laundry

They were tucked in a spot that was out of sight

So they sat

Not just one night

But for a long time and them some

So if it wasn't for them

I wouldn't have a title or a hub

But now all good things must come to an end

I am throwing my socks in

This time for sure

As I watch them closely with my squinting eyes

I am not just adding any laundry detergent

Tide that gets the dirtiest things out

So in a half hour we'll see

If Tide can handle the job

Then I know my wife will be really happy

As she begged and pleaded

Throw them away

Will you please do it if not for you then for me

I never thought of using smelly socks as an object to write poetry about - I am sure there is a deeper meaning to the poem but I think the smell just fogged it out (lol).

I remember someone wrote a song about a 'Smelly Cat' once but I think there was something fishy about it (lol) - perhaps someone could do the same thing about 'Smelly socks' - tucked away in a hurry, obviously, then out of sight - out of mind - for while until they gave themselves away.

Keep up the good work (phew) voted up (interesing / funny)

Very funny :-) If they still smell... so will the rest of your laundry ;-)
