My Long Road

Updated on August 23, 2011

On my climb

I face a mountain

driven to move on

I ignore the drops

move pass the jagged rocks,

following my heart.

Faith wrapped up

like a hidden charm in my pocket

always available

to guide me through the rough terrain.

My dreams loom high

always in my sight

leading me in the darkness,

a friend on lonely days.

Days of struggle

slowly turn to dust.

Missteps long forgotten

each rejection

a tattoo I show off.

Though I had but forgotten

the sweet taste

and carefree days,

success now within reach.

I see its happy smile

can hardly wait for the warm embrace.
