My Mind Was Other Places Poem

Updated on May 6, 2012

Why don’t you talk to me

I am sorry baby my mind is in other places

Let’s talk about when we met

I am sorry baby my mind is in other places

Didn’t you see my frown

I am sorry baby my mind was in other places

Is this all I will get

I am sorry baby my mind is in other places

Why did you let me down

I am sorry baby my mind was in other places

Let me bid you goodbye

Please excuse me baby my mind was in other places

I will not sweetheart my mind is now in other places

Please talk to me baby

I will not sweetheart my mind is now in other places

I love you I am sorry

It is too late for us my heart is in other places

Sorry sweetheart we can only be familiar faces

Sometimes we just seem to miss each other --ships passing--nicely done!

Sometimes we need to move on to another place than we first intended. Nice poem.

      Hello Kim

I loved the unity of composition. This is a beautiful poem to read just before going to bed.

@Poetic Fool Thank you, I wrote this after realizing I needed to pay more attention to my family. At times I am distracted, I also know from experience, that when you are distracted you miss a lot. I have been hurt by people doing this same thing to me and had to break off the relationship. I am glad you enjoyed my poem, I appreciate your comment and taking the time to read my hubs.

Many, I fear, find themselves in this situation but never have the courage to say goodbye and in your poem. They're forever hopeful their partners mind will return home. It's a tough realization and decision to make. Your poem expresses this beautifully, Kimberly!

A poetic sense that you are no longer in one you loves consiousness...lost to their heart, touch, and thought...suddenly a cruel awareness. Nicely done! WB

@Ruchira Thank you! My mind wanders too, that is what prompted me to write this. Yes, thankfully god is not like us, but we should be more like him.
