My North Star

Updated on December 5, 2013

For so very long I was misguided, lost my way, adrift at sea,

disenfranchised from the embodiment of life.

The jagged edges I grew served as armor to keep me safe deep inside, for all that surrounded me came with unclean hands.

Inertia plagued my life, drowning the melodic rhapsody that once defined my existence. Life became a cascading devolution, a vacuous paralytic state as I moved aimlessly through space and time.

While in dissent, I saw on the horizon, the North Star. It summoned for me, lifted me up and into its healing radiance. Under its guidance, I have thrived, finding myself yet again in fruitful coexistence and balance, knowing with certainty that I will never be lost again.

Not everyone finds that Shining Star, I'm happy to say I've found mine and it continues to guide my way. Beautiful poetry, I love how you used the metaphor.
