My Parade of Men

Thank you joiseyshowaa on Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/joiseyshowaa/

I am blessed with the distraction of men

There has been a parade of them

Please don’t misunderstand

They came not across my bed

They played merely in my head

Leaving their marks there

Of wit and wisdom shared

A dancing masseuse touched me on his table

Opened wide a port of spirit, I didn’t know I had

Then nearly drowned in my own enthusiasm

Next a seeker salesman found me in a window

We shared thoughts on coincidence and kismet

But in my phone bill I paid a hefty price

And there were writers and poets, a few

My favorite genre of men found me on the net

And caught me up in woven words

Titillating every nerve

Of my imagination

There is no grander homage than to be

Laid down and bound and inked

I never know from where or why

But always they appear

Now a musician comes to call

Purely by mistake

A dialing impediment insures I know just when

And where the band, I am not in, will next meet

He is a jester and formidable punster

He’s become a weekly treat

My story is no sweet fairy tale

Not since long before the parade began

But with men popping out of knot holes

There isn’t much I cannot withstand

I will wait while the Universe orchestrates

My next serendipitous interlude

Till then I must thank the fleeting muses

And the few turned friends for life

For lessening the burdens of this silly girl

I am ever grateful for you all

Please give my love to your lucky wife

I do love writers. I also like synchronistic meetings. You should read my Hubber Crush.

Laid down and bound and inked = best line ever.

Great writing. you aren't the only one who is attracted to/fascinated by writers of the opposite sex

This is great. A little view into life's random encounters and what they mean to a thoughtful, poetic girl. I was intrigued start to finish. Glad to read and follow you. Thanks for commenting on mine. -- Doug.

Isn't it great, having the ability to experience a completely different side of yourself and others without any consequences, not to mention the baggage which can also be attached. Nice work Randy!! It's been quite a while since I've written but I may try to get back into it.

Separation is a figment. Figs are meant to be stuffed with cheese and served with wine. Wine lessons the pain of separation. You also Jess.

Sheets separate and solitary, sheet music performed solo, still sheet. Hot sheet. Togetherness is deceptively fluid and so am I. Have a good day, RB

Sweet sentiment Wayne, but alas these were not relationships between the sheets. I didn't write about HIM in this poem. These were the men that expanded my intellect and test drove my spirituality. You CAN have a soulful connection with another that does not involve..... your snake :)

Sheesh...they all sound like snakes to me...wife and home and trying to lure a little randy behavior on the side. Where lies their nobility? Where is justice? Where is truth? Hell, where is the American way? Did it all die with Superman? These man whores! WB

Yes they were gay, so you would be safe:0) And four of them to keep you straight and narrow.

      1. Native American Indian in full dress, you could ruffle his tail feathers.

2.A policeman to put handcuffs on if your naughty

      3. Construction worker, he would work up a sweat for you.

      4. And of course a cowboy, well what more can I say coming from this saddlerider:0))

Yippy Yi Oh Kyee... Save a horse ride a cowboy...

Weren't they gay Saddlerider? I've been wanting a gay "boyfriend," but I think 5 would be too many. Or were their four? Native American guy, policeman, construction worker and an athlete...? Maybe I'm getting them confused with Spice Girls.

Hi Micky. I'm glad you like the ending as I started with the first two lines and the last one. Then filled in the middle.

Poetvix-Manifest your self a little distraction from the grind and toil, they will come. Kinda like the building a ball field I guess.
