My Reflection: A Personal Poem

Updated on January 1, 2011

Tell Me what You See....

When I look into the mirror

 I see

Me

But I see

What other people don’t see

My reflection is that of a young woman.

I look and I hear,

The sounds

That surround

Her.

The laughter, the cries and the whispers

Of family and friends

I listen and I hear

Her deepest thoughts within.

I hear  her joy and her fears.

When I look in the mirror

I see

Me

But I see

What other people don’t see

My reflection is that of a young woman.

I see her existing

In different places

I see her skin

A mixture of races

I see the flaws her makeup

Erases.

I look and I see

Her soul.

When I look into the mirror,

I see

Me

But I see

What other people don’t see

My reflection is that of a young woman.

I don't have the advantage of the mirror you are using but I see a young Christian woman, my sister in Christ. I see a woman that loves the Lord and loves her family. I see you as a fellow soldier in the spiritual war we fight, a partner in the foxhole. I see you and I think the Lord must smile because He sees you too. Love Bob.
